FAQ's
Q:- Is the bollard waterproof?
A:- Yes, the bollard and all internal components are absolutely waterproof. You may like to watch the video above to see how the bollard performs when fully submerged in a tank of water.
Q:- How many bollards can I control with each remote control?
A:- You can control an unlimited quantity of bollards with each remote control.
Q:- How many remote controls can I have?
A:- You can have up to 8 remote controls for each bollard.
Q:- Can the signal from the remote control be cloned?
A:- No. The remote control signal can not be cloned as it works on a rolling code basis.
Q:- Does the bollard have LED lights around the crown?
A:- Yes, this bollard has a full LED light crown which will flash when the bollard is rising and lowering. This eliminates power drain from the battery.
Q:- Will the bollard drop if the battery is disconnected?
A:- No. The bollard has a built-in safety lock, so if the battery is disconnected, the bollard will remain upright until power is restored from the battery.
Q:- Can I purchase an additional battery in the future?
A:- Yes, if you ever need a 3rd battery, we hold stock of all accessories and replacement parts.
Q:- How will I know when to change the battery?
A: We recommend changing the battery when you notice the bollard is slower than usual to rise or lower.
Q:- How do I change the battery?
A:- Simply unlock the battery enclosure with the keys supplied, disconnect the plunge connector, remove the battery, and insert the fully charged spare battery supplied with your bollard.
Q:- How long does it take to charge the batteries?
A:- It takes around 8 hours to fully charge each battery. The portable charger supplied has a Red/Green indicator to let you know when the battery is fully charged.
Q:- How long will a fully charged battery last?
A:- Lithium-ion batteries can go many months without being re-charged, although power drain from the battery will depend on how many times you rise and lower your bollard(s).
Q:- What is the best practice?
A:-To ensure the long term performance of your batteries, we recommend swapping the battery over with a fully charged battery at least once a month.
Q:- Can I leave the battery on charge overnight?
A: No. It is not safe or recommended to leave a Lithium-ion battery on charge overnight, as it can lead to overcharging, battery degradation, and increased fire risk, and always unplug the charger once charging is complete.
Q:- What is the best way to charge the battery?
A: Cycling is the best way to charge and care for the batteries, and should be carried out once a month. This involves a full charge, a full discharge, and then a re-charge of up to 60% of the capacity for each battery.
